BIKKURIBAKO, an interactive art gallery/shop inside of Kaz Okochi's casual lunch establishment, Oh Fish! Okochi is also the chef-owner of Kaz Sushi Bistro and a supporter of DC philanthropic and art communities.

You may be wondering "What in the world is BIKKURIBAKO?" Well, it is a Japanese concept which essentially means “lovely surprise box.” This pop-up gallery at Oh Fish!, located in the heart of DC's Golden Triangle is an experiment in the synergies possible between the business and art communities.

Curated by local curator, manager, philanthropist (and my friend) Lisa Markuson, the installation will feature the work of a developing cast of DC-based artists using multiple mediums. All art displayed will be available for purchase on and off-site. Artists include:

Mr Okochi said, “As an artist myself, I want to support artisans here the best way I can which is by giving them a platform to shine, in the center of the city during prime business hours.
